我可以写一个小本关于RPX但在几句话,“好,真正的辉煌!”I've done all sorts of fishing, both salt and fresh for well over 50 years. Love my fly fishing, trout mainly but when I got into euro nymphing couple of years ago, my catch rate with nymphs doubled. It did teach me to appreciate water flow better and changing rigs and weight often due to different current speeds, depths and conditions, it is critical if you wanted more fish caught in varying conditions. It's worth the effort to train yourself to get to know the value of water dynamics as it is technical with nymph fishing correctly. I've float fished for my whole life for the saltwater, 'luderick or blackfish' here in Aussie. Mainly in harbor, off ocean rocks or still water. I took a gamble and imported a Raven 14' IM8 and a bunch of various weight Raven floats. With watching steelhead videos I realized the value of matching the rig to the current flow and applied that to tidal flows in bottle necks and channels as speed of current can vary dramatically by the hour. Wow, after a while I could keep the bait in the strike zone through the whole tide cycle if I wanted by changing floats and weights. My catch rate increased dramatically. With luderick you use small #10 &12 hooks with fine leaders. The fish are powerful & fight really well but I began losing them in the swifter currents as the fish simply worked the hook out as I had to fight them for too long with the deeper bending 14' IM8. I didn't mind, I was getting an increased hook up rate anyway in water never really fished but I splurged and got an RPX - a game changer. It feels great in the hand but its light weight is deceptive. It's got a great backbone and you can really lean into the fish and turn their heads when needed and still protect the fine leader with a small hook purchase. Brutal finesse I call it. I still drop some fish of course but the % in the net has increased noticeably. Also, not to mention you can fish all day with an RPX and it doesn't fatigue anything like my other rods. They truly are a purpose built, quality fishing rod, couldn't be happier. Now to have a crack at some tailrace "speckled torpedos" of trout in that unwadeable swift currents. Love that rod! Well done Raven.
